Glass Plate Negative - Soldiers, Hickey Street Cottages, Ardross, WWI
1912 - 1918Three young men in Australian Army Uniform, wearing slouched hats, with trees on either side of them and a wooden fence behind and the gable of a roof and chimney can be seen behind the men.
The soldier on the far right was identified as John Laurie, who served in the 9th Reinforcements 16th Battalion in 1914-15. He lived in Collie and worked as a miner. He died in 1928 in a mine accident.
From the insignia shown on the front of their hat this would date the photo as having been taken some time during the period 1912-1918.
