PRESENTATION TABLECLOTHS
1974MGGC has two presentation tablecloths. During major club presentations these are used for display, particularly golf trophies, but also other items.
The tablecloths originated in 1974 when the Ladies’ President at the time, Jo Cook, asked foundation member Dana Shave to design a tablecloth that incorporated the club's crest.
One tablecloth (part b) was specifically intended for the Ladies’ usage and includes that term under the crest. It is damask (flower pattern) fabric and bottle green in colour.
The other tablecloth (part a) was prepared for general club usage and is emerald green coloured, polished cotton fabric. It is not clear when this second tablecloth was produced, but the similar designs suggest that the two were produced at the same time.
The gold and green embroidered crests are positioned on one corner of each cloth, and both feature a yellow/gold frill around the edge.
