Overview

A coloured photograph of a brick and iron roofed house. The photograph shows the front of the house, with the roof-line of 16 Chester Street in the background. There are turned posts on the verandah and the enclosed sleepout to the left of the image has windows on both sides. Two ornamental flower urns stand on pillars on either side of the front steps. There are several hanging flower pots along the front railing of the verandah.

Historical information

Known as Durack House, but initially was called 'Stratmore House'.
First title dated 1904 and built for Walter David Cookes, Manufacturer.
In 1922 John Peter Durack in residence and in Durack family until c.1976.
