Overview

A coloured photograph of a brick and iron roofed house. The photograph shows the upper section of the house. There is a corrugated iron roof which is in poor condition. There is a gable with finial and two large brick chimneys. Plastic sheeting covers the sleepout roof on the front verandah to keep out the rain. Trees and bushes in the garden obscure the view. There is a picket fence.

Historical information

Known as Durack House, but initially was called 'Stratmore House'.
First title dated 1904 and built for Walter David Cookes, Manufacturer.
In 1922 John Peter Durack in residence and in Durack family until c.1976.
