Embossed in the outer circle at the top is "DOG REGISTRATION" and at the bottom is "WESTERN AUSTRALIA", and underneath the swan is "1917".

On the back is embossed " ROADS BOARD KATANNING 111".

Dog registration has always been a part of the administration of the Katanning Road Board.
