A SCHOOL GEOGRAPHY
1879Red leather hard cover with black embossed lettering and design. 360 pages, table of contents, index and appendix. Sixty-fifth Edition. Dr. Cornwell's Educational Series. Advertisement to the Forty-fifth edition reads - It is difficult to keep pace with the rapid growth of some of our Colonies. In the present edition this is attempted, especially in regard to those of Australia. I have, however, to thank an official gentleman who has kindly forwarded me information respecting Victoria not otherwise attainable. (Of printed documents thus courteously forwarded, the author is particular indebted to the Progress of Victoria by Mr. Archer the Registrar-General of that colony – a work which is almost a story and in which statistics besides being authoritative have been made interesting - a not very usual quality of figures).
