Studio portrait of George and 3062 Bombardier Claude Athol Heppingstone of Brunswick Junction, died of wounds 23 July 1916 received at Pozieres

Historical information

3062 Bombadier Claude Athol Heppingstone of Brunswick Junction enlisted on 7 October 1914 as a Driver with the Divisional Ammunition Column. He departed Fremantle on HMAT A7 Medic on 2 November 1914. He died of wounds at Pozieres France on 23 July 1916 while serving with a Trench Mortar Battery. He is buried in the Warloy-Baillon Communal Cemetery Extension.
He was a member of Canning's second expedition 1908-10 to equip the Canning Stock Route.
