Grave of Bombardier Claude Heppingstone

Historical information

3062 Bombadier Claude Athol Heppingstone of Brunswick Junction enlisted on 7 October 1914 as a Driver with the Divisional Ammunition Column. He departed Fremantle on HMAT A7 Medic on 2 November 1914. He died of wounds at Pozieres France on 23 July 1916 while serving with a Trench Mortar Battery. He is buried in the Warloy-Baillon Communal Cemetery Extension.
He was a member of Canning's second expedition 1908-10 to equip the Canning Stock Route.
