Professional photographic postcard in black and white of two (2) soldiers. One is seated with legs crossed and hands folded on knee, the other is standing with one hand on the seated soldier’s shoulder. Both are in uniform and neither wear hats. On the back handwritten in pencil is the address.

Historical information

Commonly sent home to friends or family during the First World War were these photographic postcards. This one is of two (2) unknown soldiers – the standing soldier is wearing the uniform featuring leather puttees and stirrups with a chevron on the right sleeve denoting four years of service.
