Overview

Cylindrical white glazed milk jug with black logo on front and ear shaped handle on right side. On opposite side on lip is a V shaped spout. Logo has a belt around the outside with text on it. Inside the belt is a black swan facing left. Logo [STATE BRICK WORKS].
Black makers mark printed on base. Made up of text in a circle with a crown above text. Inside text a stylised W over the top half of a B.

Historical information

Produced by Wembley ware in Subiaco, a major supplier of table wares in Western Australia. Apart of the official tea set for State Brickworks in the city of Armadale. State Brickworks Armadale is a place that is associated with the original Armadale Brickworks and has historic value as the shale material from this site was used to make the bricks, which were used in the construction of many homes in the area. The place has scientific value as a geological site, and is believed to have been identified by the Geological Society of Australia (WA) in 1979 as one of the most significant geological sites in the metropolitan area.
