19114 page souvenir programme - white paper with black text
The new portions of the Busselton Jetty, including the vital railway spur and extensions for larger ships, were officially opened with great ceremony on Wednesday, March 1, 1911, by Western Australian Premier, the Honourable Frank Wilson. This significant event marked the completion of a major upgrade, allowing steam trains to haul timber and other goods directly to ships, making it the longest jetty in the Southern Hemisphere at the time, and a crucial link for the timber trade.
