Inaugural meeting held on 6th November 1936 to start a sports club which would run events on New Years Day.
The first Committee consisted of:

The events held at the first event included:
• 100 yards Maiden Race
• 75 yds Ladies Bracelet Nominated by Ladies
• 120 yds Sheffield Open Handicap
• Hop Step & Jump
• High Jump
• Broad Jump
• Tossing the Caber
• Breeders Stakes 10 miles Radius, once around the course, 10 stone minimum
• Hurry Scurry once around the course
• Five furlongs race for Horses 12 inch standing and 12 inch underhand log chopping
• Bike race (open to any person outside Cycle Club)
At the Committee Meeting of the 21 September 1956, it was agreed to go into a 12 month recess.
