HELMET, BRASS - FIREMAN'S

Overview

Brass helmet with dragon scroll on top with four brass screws on each side of scroll. Coat of arms with rising sun, motto on banner [ADVANCE AUSTRALIA], shield, emu and kangaroo. Brass rosette hinges on each side for brass linked chin strap, leather backed. Small visor on front with larger one at back with one brass screw. Inside in lined with leather with leather thong threaded though eyelets. Dented and slightly tarnished. On the underside of the back neck protecting visor is a square metal plaque with the helmets manufacturing information written around an oval. On the rim of the underside of back visor is an engraved number.
