Overview

The Certificate has Royal Coat of Arms at centre upper edge; Britannia seated at upper right; Union Jack draped centrally; two soldiers presenting arms centre left; ocean in background with British lion half behind the flag. A scroll-encircled citation lower right reads: No. 4703 Private Bert Congdon, Australian MTS (late 28th Battalion). Served with honour and was disabled in the Great War. Honourably discharged on 1st December 1918. Signed: George R.I.'
