As the title suggests, it is not so much an autobiography, but more a collection of often comical anecdotes from the lives of himself and his father Tom Howard, who were both professional golfers and golf course designers, as well as the history of golf in Australia during the 20th century.

The content includes substantial factual detail of these aspects. The book has 247 pages and was published in 2005.

The book was obtained by Max Hannah who met Al Howard late in his life in the eastern states at a golf event where Al signed the inside of the book “In tribute to Melville Glades and members past and present” on 25/7/2010.
