1919Unit marching through Perth, 1914 . Data corrected from original presentation with 1919 date.
Believed taken late October, 1914. Identification based on shirts being worn, no colour patches and no Trove evidence of 16 Battalion participating a homecoming march. On Repatriation, AIF soldiers travelled home in small batches over almost 6 months or more. The officer on the right, closest to the men, tentatively identified as Lieutenant E H Kretchmar, (KIA). The Officer leading tentatively identified as Captain Francis Carter, CO of D Company whose Company was in Perth, 29th October 1914. Captain Carter (later Major?) also KIA .
