WWII Medals - issued to E F Davies

Subcollections
Overview

Three star shaped bronze medals, two round silver medals and one round bronze medals attached to coloured ribbons sewn on a board.

Court hung medals are a formal way to wear medals, particularly for those awarded at the Royal Court. This method involves sewing the ribbon to a backing board, which is then attached to the medal. This prevents the medals from moving and ensures a clean and ordered appearance. It is the preferred method for current serving members of the Australian Defence Force and is considered more formal than swing mounting
