Brown leather tooled cover, edged in brass & brass clip. Gold edged pages. Self-interpreting Family Bible with an extensive introduction, marginal references and illustrations, an exact summary of the several books, a paraphrase on the most obscure or important parts, explanatory notes, evangelical reflections ect., ect., by the late Rev. John Brown, Minister of the Gospel at Haddington. Portrait gallery(empty) and register between Old and New Testament - many family entries. Inscription 'To Elsie, from her affectionate Mother 24/12/91': ' Our Wedding Day, December 27th 1892'. Illustrations, maps, in colour.
