PHOTOGRAPH: WASTE POND OF AUSTRALIAN FINE CHINA
1998Black and white photograph of a waste pond surrounded by reeds and grass. Cleared land and a brick wall can be seen in the background.
There were 2-3 ponds into which waste from factory processes poured. Cleared out (ie dug out clay from bottom) approx once a year. Story of truck driver delivering waste, it wouldn't budge so he kicked it. Part of it came down and took him with it into pond. He only broke a leg, but had to be hosed down before they could take him to hospital.
