In the background is the electrical goods store on the corner of Bay View Terrace and Stirling Highway.

On the left, under the verandah, are signs for a florist, [CLAREMONT/ Shopping Arcade] and [R. SAUNDERS/ GIRLS AND BOYS WEAR]. On the right are the Post Office, a number of small shops including Olson's Newsagency, the double frontage Good Samaritan Industries, several indistinguishable businesses, Pennywise Gift Shop and Home Building Society.
