c. 1915The original black and white photograph shows a streetscape of residential houses. Typewritten on the back: ' Smyth Road, West Subiaco, Railway Road side, about 1915. Note the wooden handrails to footpath and steps leading from each house to the road. These existed until the new road was built during 1939 - 1945 war. Apart from a verandah being added to house on right, houses have changed very little. Built by Mr Grundmann.' Mrs Mr Donald's shanty'. Handwritten on back: 'Our Place and Mrs McDonald's Place'
