Lawrence, Francis, Betty and Judith House leaving for school at ‘Marleyup’, about 3 miles away

In 1939, many country children used horses of bikes as a means of transport to and from school.

Good photo of travel to school. When the children rose in the morning on the farm, one of them had to get the horse in and feed and groom it. At school the horses were fed and watered during the day.
