2018Natural wood garrbina (shield) made from darlab (kurrajong/Brachychiton viscidulus)
This garrbina was displayed in the Bugarrigarra Nyurdany exhibition first held at the National Native Title Conference in Broome 5 - 7 June 2018 at Cable Beach Club and then again at the opening of the Liyan Ngan Nyirrwa Centre, Nyamba Buru Yawuru in 2019.

Details
This shield is a representation of our cultural heritage, the knowledge that has been passed down from generation to generation. Many of our cultural practices are intangible, such as the Bugarrigarra stories that have been passed down through oral traditions. We must continue to pass on the interwoven relationships of our story and country and protect our secret knowledge that has survived for thousands of years.
