SILVER VESTA MATCH CASE
1906Flat rectangular case with a hinged lid and a small ring for a chain on its side. The base has a serrated surface against which the vestas were struck. The case is decorated all over with an abstract design of stylised feathers. On its front on a smooth shield is inscribed: "Mr Hadley from the girls and boys Fifth Standard Subiaco S.S. 12.10.06". A series of hallmarks (anchor, lion etc) are stamped on the side of the lid and the rim of the case. The case was presented to the donor's father, Charles William Hadley, Headmaster of Subiaco State School.
