Overview

round preserving urn with 2 x lids, (one has a handle & one without)
outside of urn is green with various rusty patches, inside is very rusty on the bottom, a sign that it's been used a lot, there's an indication that the bottom of urn has been soldered up to fix a hole.

Historical information

Vacola Sterilizer are used to preserve fruits, jams, vegetables etc., a very common house hold item. the special Vacola bottles were filled with contents, sealed with a rubber ring and special clip then put into urn, filled with water up to a level, bought up to a heat temperature on the stove for a set time, one this was completed bottles were taken out to cool in the cooling process the bottles sealed and then the contents could be kept for a reasonable period
