Overview

Blue cloth cap with blue cloth flap at back to cover neck. On the front of the cap is an embroidered logo. Logo has a white shield boarder. Inside is white text and a red cross with a white outline. Text [LOVE / FAITH HOPE / DALE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL]. At the back of the cap, above the neck flap is a plastic adjustable band. One side of the band which has a row of holes clips onto the other side which has plastic studs.
On the inside of the cap is a blue manufacturers tag with white text and a white product tag with black text. Written in blue marker on the inside of the cap is [MADELYN]. On the underside of the manufacturers tag in black pen is written [Madelyn / H]

Historical information

This hat was worn by a Year 4 student Madelyn from the Dale Christian School who visited History House on 3 March 2022 with their class to do the Nidja Noongar Boodjar program. During their visit the student managed to loose their hat and left it at the museum. A few days later museum staff found the hat and it was placed into the lost and found where it lived, forgotten over six months.
Dale Christian School, was founded in 1983 as a Congregational Church based school and was originally located in the former Armadale Congregational Church hall and Manse on Church Avenue in Armadale. In 1985 to accommodate its rapid growth the school purchased the former Dale Drive In on Forrest Road, Armadale where they were able to construct a new school. In 2002 a middle school for year 7 and 8 students was opened. not long after this students were able to attend the school all the way to Year 12.
