Historical information

Two 5 months old Clydesdale foals of Morrell Bros, standing in front of a barn at "Ironbarks Farm," North Greenough. The farm was bought by Reuben Morrell in the early 1870s, was later inherited by his offspring and remained in the Morrell family until 1980.

Contextual Information

Draught horses played a crucial role in enabling the development of agriculture at Greenough, and many farmers, like the Morrells, bred their own horses. This photograph is also important because the building in the background is now a ruin.
