This photograph is evidence of the high honour of a Club member (AJ Halliday) being selected as part of the Australian Rifle Team to compete against other British Empire teams at the Queens Prize Meeting in Bisley, England in 1913. The Team won the prestigious McKinnon Cup. Selection of shooters from minor states such as WA was uncommon and a challenge for those that were selected. Team members had to pay their passage by sea to join the team in England and were away for up to 3 months. Its has been estimated that AJ Halliday was selected from over 10,000 eligble shooters across Australia. The 1913 Queens competition between Empire nations was the last before the First World War forced civilian competition into recess.
