Order for turpentine from William Stokes
1869handwritten note on blue paper. The paper has signs of staining and numerous holes caused by insect damage.
William Stokes (1808-81) was a Private in 30th Regt. He married Ellen O'Neill. and served as a lighthouse keeper in Falkland Islands for 7 years. Arrived in WA in 1860 with wife and family and granted two Pensioner Guard blocks at Greenough.
After the death of his wife in 1878, he retired to Geraldton.
