LEEMING REAL ESTATE BROCHURE FEATURING MGGC
c. 1978This is an A4 sized four page real estate brochure titled 'Melville Links Estates'. It promotes land that was being cleared for development as part of the then new suburb of Leeming. This land was located to the west and north of the MGGC golf course.
Opened up into A3 size the front and back covers together have an aerial view looking north showing the golf course, mostly virgin bushland to the west, and the City of Perth in the far background. Karel Avenue is shown terminating just south of Beasley Road. Par 3 holes 14 and 5 are clearly seen on the western border of the golf course to help orientate the view.
The developer, Richard Noble & Company, loosely refers to MGGC as 'Melville Links', although the map inside the brochure uses the correct name of Melville Glades Golf Course.
No date appears on the document. However, the suburb of Leeming was gazetted in 1971 and urban construction commenced in 1975/76. So, it is likely to be circa 1978/79. This is supported by the approximate date of telephone numbers converting from 6 to 7 digits in early 1978, the brochure bearing a 7 digit contact number.
