PHOTOGRAPH: STANDARD 1A, SUBIACO STATE SCHOOL
1911The original black and white image shows a school class seated in a school room. The children are seated at desks, three by three. Many of the boys wear sailor suits and the girls wear dresses with lace collars. Drawings and paintings hang on the walls around the classroom, including separate drawings of some of the months of the year. Flowers and leaves are drawn on the black boards lining the walls of the classroom. The children are the eight year olds. M. E. Mercer may have been Mavis Mackenzie who identifies herself with a cross, sitting at the back of the classroom. The few available names listed on the back are copied onto a separate sheet accompanying the photograph. First Row Girls: Eva Willis, Gladys Gow, Eva Tate, Hilda Hedges, Nancy Robson, Mina Lippert, Eva Weatherall, Gwen Bromilow, Edith Cor, Ruby Diprose, Gladys Hancock, Ida Dowling, _?
