I - XV, illustrated with portraits, fac-similes of autographs of eminent and illustrious personages, contents pages, index etc. The whole work arranged under nine periods, forming as many distinct epochs in English history -I.e. First period from Alfred the Great to the Conquest, Second period From the Conquest to the accession of Edward I, Third Period From Edward 1 to the acession of Henry VII, Fourth Period From Henry VII to the accession or James I, Fifth Period From James I to the Revolution, Sixth Period From the Revolution to the accession of George I, Seventh Period From George I to the accession George III, Eighth Period From George III to the French Revolution, Ninth Period From the French Revolution to the accession of Her Present Majesty.
