Image: The black and white photograph features the shop with a sign above: 'H. Rance late Wallace and Rance Plumbers'. Harry Rance, the proprietor (grandfather of the donor) and his younger brother are standing in front of the shop. Harry is leaning against the verandah posts. A buggy is parked next to the pavement. To the left the shop of Alfred Ascon, estate agent and evaluator, is just visible.

Historical information

The donor, Mrs M. Purdie (nee Rance) is a granddaughter of Harry Rance. Rance's building is at the corner of Hay and Rokeby Roads.
