Historical information

Bumper sticker produced in 1986 to promote the marketing campaign 'Armadale - City Living, Country Style' by the City of Armadale. The sticker were provided for free to City residents. The slogan was selected by Council in 1985 from community submissions in a slogan competition advertised in the Comment News. The slogan was entered by Nola Trousselot of Armadale. An application to trademarked the slogan was first made in 1985. The slogan was used on various promotional and council material to promote the perceived lifestyle in the City of Armadale. The slogan was discontinued some time after 2005. In 2016 the City chose not to renew the trademark.
The sticker also represents the start of the change in the City of Armadale who started to take on a more corporate structure and the use of branding and marketing to promote the City of Armadale of a tourism, business and living destination. The corporatisation of the City truly began in 1996 when the position of Town Clerk was renamed Chief Executive Officer.
