On the back, in brown, is a list of councillors and senior staff at the City on 15th November, 1985.
On inside of program on the left side is the three course menu of the celebration dinner. On the right side is the order of proceedings and who would be speaking.

Historical information

This program is from a celebratory dinner held by the the local council on 16 November 1985, the night the Town of Armadale became the City of Armadale. The dinner included all of the City's Councillors, key staff as well as many local VIP's. The dinner was held in the new Administration building which was opened to co-inside with the Town becoming a City. Becoming a City represented the growth of the district and its role as a regional centre in the south-east metropolitan corridor.

Statement of significance

This object is part of a collection of items that represent the role that local government has played in providing services to its local community. The City of Armadale was formed in 1894 as the Kelmscott Road Board and has grown from a time when it only provide roads and drains to today when the City provides a wide range of services including waste collection, libraries, museum, parks, sporting facilities, building licenses, environmental services, public events, street lighting, ranger services and community facilities.
