TEASPOON PLASTIC CASE BASE - CITY OF ARMADALE CENTENARY 1894-1994

Overview

White rectangle plastic base with a raised edge that sits 3mm inside the base edge. At top end of the base is a plastic loop. Rising up from just bellow the middle of the base is a cylindrical clip with a U shaped indentation in the middle. A rectangle card inlay runs the length of the inside of the base and fits over the clip. Inlay is light blue at the top and then blends along its length into a darker blue, purple and is pink at the opposite end of the inlay.

Historical information

This tea spoon and case was part of a suit of items produced by the City of Armadale to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the gazetting of the Kelmscott Road Board in 1894 that is today the City of Armadale. The spoon was made by Sonic Products. The 100th Anniversary included a variety of events from dinners to concerts held throughout the year. This spoon was purchased as a momentous of the event by Alf and Dorothy Cassely who were local residents.

Statement of significance

Part of a collection of items produced to celebrate 100 years since the establishment of the Kelmscott Road Board in 1894 than has since grown with the local community and is today the City of Armadale. This collection is part of a larger collection of items that focuses on the history and impact of local government on the community. Local Government plays an important role in providing services to the local community and provides a snap shot into what issues are important to the local community.
