King George Hostel, Austral Terrace, Katanning
c. 1990A coloured photograph of a two-storey brick building which is built along two perpendicular streets. Along the entire second storey is a continuous wooden balcony with wooden balustrades.
The building next to this building has been demolished, however the white brick building with a second storey wooden balcony with balustrades can be seen.
There is a white ute, silver car, another white ute and red car parked on the side street and three vehicles parked on the left side of the main street. There is one vehicle driving on the left side of the main street, towards the photographer
On the roof of the building in the foreground is a polygonal tower on the corner of the building which intersects both streets.
There are power lines and poles with attached street lights on the left hand side of the main street.
This is a panoramic picture of King George Hostel taken from the corner of Albion Street and Austral Terrace Katanning.
The building in the foreground is the 'King George Hostel' although originally it was called 'St Georges Hostel' is a significant building as it was built by the Alex Thomson for Melville Piesse in 1913.
It is located on the corner of Albion Street (side street) and Austral Terrace (main street).
