Chris Ball worked as a Technician with the ABC & grew up in the Nukarni area He rescued the sign from rubbish at the rear of the ABC Perth & returned it to Merredin 2005 The name of the Nukarni Railway Siding & area was originally spelled 'Newkarnie ' & was changed approx 1928 when a 2nd Primary School was built The original School used spelling Newcarnie The 2nd Primary School was named 'Nukarnie ' 1928 & was attended by Les Last now living in Merredin 2005 ..The School house is well preserved & lived in 2006
