CWA of WA Younger Set Tablecloth
White Damask cloth with CWA of WA Younger Set crest embroidered.
Younger sets were inaugurated in 1928, the Metropolitan Set being the first and Northam the second. When the first seaside home was opened at Cottesloe, the Sets then in existence helped materially, especially Northam, which contributed ten pounds annually for four years. The latter set also adopted a little girl at the Parkerviller Homes and regularly supplied her with cloths, having her to stay at Northam during the holiday period. Another Set at Busselton sent One Hundred and Seventy pounds to the purchase of the CWA Headquarters and Hostel. Tammin did marvellous work during the war years. All Sets helped their parent branch and many pianos were a special objective for rest rooms. Younger Set Conferences were held and camps held where girls from all parts of the State made interesting and long lasting contacts. Younger Sets gradually ceased to exist in the mid 1960's.
