The boys have an identical haircut and clothes. They are wearing velvet jackets with lace collars and knickerbockers with lace around the knee, dark stockings and buckled shoes. Little Ted has a design on his stockings and wears boots. He is sitting on a fur rug on a cork-wood box. Alex leans against the box with his legs crossed. Handwritten on back 'Ted and Alex (dad)'.
