LADIES ON FIRST TEE ON A RAINY DAY
Four ladies are seen preparing to tee off on the first hole on a very wet morning at the club. Rain has created large puddles on the grassed area behind them.
Pictured under umbrellas in the rain are, left to right are:
Flora Blackwood, unknown, Val Moore and Dana Shave.
Another unidentified lady is practicing in the background.
The date of the photograph is estimated to be sometime in the mid to late 1980s based on the style of equipment. The old clubhouse is seen in the distance.
The picture also shows the granite wall that surrounds the tee. These granite walls were constructed around many of the elevated tees on the course during this period.

The photograph shows how quickly water pools on the course during rainfall events. However, the nature of the soil profile generally allows the water to infiltrate relatively quickly to allow golf to be played.
