Provenance: Historic: Bravery Award Medal has strong significance for the tragic event that took place in Yallingup in 1927 and for the outstanding bravery of members of the local community including John Lane.
Aesthetic: Bravery Award Medal has aesthetic value as a highly decorative silver medallion with the inscription recordinhg heriocs of John Lane. The medal box has some aesthetic value.
Social: Bravery Award Medal reflects strong social values from the period of the event that took place in Yallingup in 1927.
