Statement of significance

The Quartermaine family were the first settlers in the Katanning district. They were the owners of 'Yowanup' farm. Morton Francis farmed at 'Boyaminning', Eli Jnr and snr farmed 'Yowanup', Donald Charles farmed 'Marraconda' and Walter William farmed 'Meh Mahn'.
