Historical information

Excerpt from the back of book:
"In 1869, a group of Melbourne printers started a weekly newspaper for those citizens of the 35 year old colony of Victoria who lived beyond the capital. It would be, they decided, a journal of literature, sport, agriculture, science and politics. In 1994, The Weekly Times celebrates 125 years of continuous publication, reporting the events and issues which affect people living in the country. To these people, the paper was known as "The Bible of the Bush".
