MV PERSEVERANCE, KALGAN RIVER, 1912
1912A black and white photographic image of the MV Perseverance with a large picnic party aboard, the photograph is posed as all the family groups are facing the camera. The fully loaded Perseverance is close alongside on a high tide at a landing jetty on the Kalgan River.
The Douglas family built this motorised launch on the Kalgan River near the "Killarney" homestead in 1906 and registered the MV Perseverance, license number 0158, on the 15th of March 1907.
The launch was 35' long and licensed to carry 40 people with gear.
