Old timber hall/church remained on site behind. The Church was converted into Claremont Town Hall in 1981 after the Uniting Church was formed. The Perth-Fremantle Road was renamed Stirling Highway in 1932 after the first Governor of Western Australia, Admiral Sir James Stirling.
