Eziwalkin scratch teams match winners 1923-25 - Eziwalkin was a major sponsor of rifle shooting. The company was a well known retailer of footwear. Ezywalkin Ltd was established in 1899 by Frederick Gaze and Walter David Cookes, at Boulder. They started with a small factory that aimed to manufacture a cheaper class of shoe for ordinary people, at a time when the Australian market was dominated by imported expensive English and American made shoes. A Melbourne factory was established in 1910 and the first store opened there in 1912.The firm continued until Coles entered the footwear business by purchasing Ezywalkin in 1981 and the business was sold to the American Payless Shoe Company in 1988.
