Overview

Cane sewing or knitting basket.
Small round woven cane basket with thin dark pieces of cane in a wave pattern running around the top and base of the basket.
Around the middle is a looser crossed pattern.
The basket is lined with dark green cotton cloth which is tacked onto the basket with black cotton thread.

Historical information

Donated by Mrs Thurman, said to have belonged to the Whitfield family.
