John Septimus Roe Commemorative Crockery

Historical information

In 1836 John Septimus Roe, Surveyor General explored around Emu Hill in what is now the Shire of Narembeen. During this expedition Roe explored large tracts of land inland from Perth. He went in search of suitable terrain for settlement and farming. These items are part of a dinner set given as a wedding gift and brought by him and his wife to Western Australia. The item was donated by Mrs Hill.
