DRAWING KNIFE: CARPENTER'S - 'WARD & PAYNE' - WIDE BLADE
Drawing knife - flat long steel blade, chisel-shaped in section and bevel ground at front edge. Tapering tangs at both ends of the blades are bent at right angles to the cutting edge and are fitted with bulbous turned wooden handles, with the end of the tang riveted over. Blade stamped in three places with 'Ward and Payne' initials and trade marks - crossed hammers over an anvil with the initials 'W and P' on either side. Also WARD/CAST STEEL.
